Facial Rejuvenation

Facial rejuvenation treatment involves treating some of the muscles of facial expression in such a way that their movement is relaxed.

This, in turn, reduces the appearance of some facial lines, creases and wrinkles. Most people want facial rejuvenation treatment because they do not like the lines, creases and wrinkles that have developed as part of the natural ageing process. They do not want a ‘frozen’ look but would like a fresher appearance.

The 3 most common areas treated are the frown lines (the area between the eyes and above the nose), forehead lines and the crow’s feet at the side of the eyes. To relax the muscles of facial expression, a small amount of cosmetic fillers are administered into the areas to be treated. Results are normally seen after 2-14 days and normally last for 3-4 months.

At the initial facial rejuvenation consultation, Dr O’Brien will discuss your requirements and whether the treatment is suitable for you and explain how it will be performed. An appointment will then be booked for the treatment, and a review appointment will be made for 2 weeks after the treatment. The review appointment is to check the results of the treatment and to see if any ‘top-up’ is required.
